- Signs of past strokes
- Parkinson’s disease
- Depression
- Sleep apnea
- Thyroid disorder
- Vitamin B-12 deficiency

- Brain tumor
Assessment of memory problems:
- Mental status testing:
- Test your thinking (cognitive) and memory skills to evaluate your degree of cognitive impairment.
- Neuropsychological tests:
- Evaluated by a specialist trained in brain conditions and mental health conditions (neuropsychologist) to evaluate your memory and thinking (cognitive) skills.
- Interviews with friends and family:
- Interview patient’s family members or friends about the patient’s behaviors.
