Maeve Brophy of Memphis, TN is Assistant Professor of Music at Rust College, where she teaches applied piano and class piano and also coaches and collaborates with vocalists, instrumentalists, and the Rust College A’ Capella Choir.
Ms. Brophy is also a collaborative pianist at the University of Memphis, where she performs with students, faculty, and guest artists, and she serves as Head of Keyboard Studies at Brown Baptist Academy of Music in Southaven, MS, where she teaches piano to children, teenagers, and adults.
She performs annually in the Belvedere Summer Chamber Music Festival in Memphis with Luna Nova Ensemble, and with Blueshift Ensemble for the ICEBERG New Music residency with Crosstown Arts each August.
An advocate for marginalized composers, Ms. Brophy created the Maeve Brophy YouTube Channel in 2020 as a resident artist with Crosstown Arts, now featuring over 80 videos of solo piano works by women and composers of color. She also performs with her sister Linnaea as the Brophy Sisters piano/violin duo, continuing her mission to amplify diverse voices in classical music.
Previously, Ms. Brophy worked as a collaborative pianist for the University of Mississippi and Vanderbilt University, and served as a faculty member at Belmont University in Nashville. She is a charter member of the Nashville alt-classical ensemble chatterbird.
Beyond the concert hall, Maeve loves coffee, fashion, and life with her daughter and their dog, Nadia, in Bartlett, TN.
