Musical Memories Project™ was founded in 2022 by Tara Lim, inspired by her longtime piano teacher Ms. Maria DeBacco and supported by the Lim family in Memphis, Tennessee. The project is legally registered as Musical Memories Project LLC, owned and operated by the Lim family.

We believe that familiar melodies can bring peace, comfort, and dignity to seniors while also teaching youth the value of compassion, service, and human connection.
Our History
The roots of Musical Memories Project™ trace back to the teaching legacy of our Music Director, Ms. Maria DeBacco. For many years, Ms. Maria took her piano students into memory care units, where she saw how familiar music could awaken recognition, spark joy, and bring comfort to seniors.
In 2022, her student Tara Lim carried this vision forward through her senior project, giving shape and structure to what became Musical Memories Project™. What began as a heartfelt effort inspired by a teacher and her student has since grown into a registered nonprofit LLC.
Today, Musical Memories continues this legacy — bringing musicians of all ages into nursing homes, assisted living, and memory care communities to share the timeless gift of music.
Entity Status and Legal Management:
The Musical Memories Project LLC is an active, legally registered corporate entity operating under the exclusive ownership and direction of Tara Lim, the Lim family, and Maria DeBacco. The organization does not recognize, permit, or authorize any other individuals to claim the title of co-founder.
Brand Continuity and Operations:
Since its inception, the organization has consistently operated under its original name and founding family ownership. The Musical Memories Project LLC has never changed its legal name, rebranded, or transferred its operational rights, history, or assets to any other entity. Any outside organizations or initiatives operating within the senior care sector under different, similar, or trailing names are completely separate, independent entities. They hold no legal continuity, partnership, affiliation, or endorsement from our organization.
Digital Channel Status:
The Musical Memories Project LLC has permanently severed all ties with its former historical Instagram account (@musical_memories_alzheimers). Control of that specific digital asset was compromised and accessed without authorization, and its historical content and biographical data were subsequently altered without the consent of the legal owners. Following an explicit refusal by the unauthorized operator to return the company's property, the Musical Memories Project LLC permanently deactivated its association with that former account. All official social media communications, community updates, and public operations have migrated exclusively to our new, official Instagram channel (@Musical_memories_project) linked on this website.
The "Musical Memories Project" name, branding, and proprietary assets are protected under corporate law. Any unauthorized use of the organization's name or historical media for external commercial or promotional purposes will be met with immediate legal action to protect our brand integrity.
