We were delighted to welcome Elizabeth Houston as a guest musician for our St. Patrick’s Day celebration recital at Silvercreek Senior Living on March 7, 2026. Performing alongside her granddaughter, Libby Link, Elizabeth brought a beautiful program of Celtic-inspired music that filled the afternoon with warmth, charm, and a sense of tradition.
Elizabeth Houston began studying harp with her mother, Ruth Moore Cobb, the first harpist of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. She later served for six years as harpist with the Memphis Youth Symphony and continued her harp studies as a performance major in college and in New York City, while also completing a Master of Christian Education at Princeton Theological Seminary.
After returning to Memphis in the 1990s, Elizabeth performed professionally with area churches, appeared occasionally with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and played for numerous weddings and special events. Her harp playing reflects both elegance and a deep sense of musical storytelling.

A particularly meaningful aspect of this performance was the collaboration between Elizabeth and her granddaughter, Libby Link, a violinist in the Advanced String Orchestra at White Station High School. Together, they shared a special intergenerational musical connection, bringing Celtic melodies to life in a way that resonated deeply with the residents.
Their duet was a beautiful reminder of how music can connect generations—not only between performers and audience, but within families themselves.
We are truly grateful to Elizabeth Houston and Libby Link for sharing their music and for making the afternoon so memorable for the residents of Silvercreek Senior Living.
