Musical Memories Journey: 60 Years of Vintage Jazz & Pop with Gerald Stephens

At Musical Memories Project, we believe that music has the power to transcend time, evoke cherished memories, and bring generations together. On September 26, 2026, we had the distinct honor of hosting an extraordinary concert at Germantown Plantation, featuring renowned pianist Gerald Stephens as our guest artist.

A 60-Year Musical Journey (1912–1979)

During this special performance, Gerald took our senior residents on a nostalgic journey spanning six decades of vintage jazz, blues, and classic pop. His thoughtfully curated setlist spanned from the ragtime blues of 1912 to the soulful pop hits of 1979:

• Memphis Blues – W. C. Handy (1912)

• Black and Tan – Duke Ellington (1927)

• Embraceable You – George & Ira Gershwin (1928)

• Memories of You – Eubie Blake (1930)

• Wichita Lineman – Glen Campbell & Jimmy Webb (1968)

• Blackbird – Lennon & McCartney (1968)

• Send One Your Love – Stevie Wonder (1979)
