Chip Houston
Chip Houston is a Memphis-based conductor and bass-baritone with deep roots in church and community music. Trained as a singer with a background in elementary education, Chip brings a unique warmth, patience, and joy to every stage he steps onto.
Beyond his solo vocal work, Chip has a profound passion for musical mentorship. He directs a community teaching orchestra with a distinct ministry focus, dedicated to working with musicians of all skill levels to bring the joy of ensemble playing to life.
We were absolutely delighted to have him partner with our Music Director, Maria DeBacco, for an unforgettable afternoon of Broadway and film favorites—sharing timeless songs that have shaped generations of audiences.
Chip blew the crowd away with an extraordinary 5-song set of theatrical and cinematic masterpieces. His song selections brought back a wave of wonderful nostalgia for the residents:
"Oh What a Beautiful Morning" (Oklahoma) – A bright, optimistic opening that instantly had the room smiling.
"Look To The Rainbow" (Finian's Rainbow) – A beautiful, whimsical performance.
