On December 13th, Musical Memories Project was honored to present a holiday recital at Opus East Memphis, sharing live music and seasonal joy with the residents. The afternoon was filled with beautiful performances and genuine moments of connection through music. We extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Maria DeBacco, Music Director of Musical Memories Project, for organizing this recital and for bringing her students to share their music with the residents. Her leadership and dedication made this event both thoughtful and well coordinated.

We are also grateful to music teachers Ashley Shearin and Maeve Brophy for joining us and for bringing their students to participate. Their collaboration added depth and variety to the program, making the afternoon especially meaningful.

A highlight of the recital was the finale performance by Maeve Brophy, who performed Bach’s Prelude followed by an improvised medley of Winter Wonderland, O Holy Night, and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Her imaginative improvisation held the audience’s attention and brought the program to a memorable close. Visit Maeve's website at www.maevebrophy.com

In addition to the music, we were thankful to partner with BY2S (Bridge of Youth to Seniors), who brought handmade gifts and Christmas cards for the residents. A special thank-you goes to Samantha Bellamy, BY2S Taiwan Chapter Leader, who delivered handmade gifts and cards from Taiwan, offering a touching reminder of how kindness can travel across borders. We are grateful to everyone who shared their time, talent, and care. This recital reflected the power of music and community to bring comfort, connection, and joy—especially during the holiday season.
